Practicing Good Dental Hygiene

Your smile is one of the most prominent features of the face and often the first thing that people notice upon meeting you. For this reason, patients who visit my Beverly Hills practice often inquire about good dental hygiene practices. Fortunately, visiting your dentist is one of the most important steps to maintaining a healthy smile. Doing so can help diagnose any dental problems present and treat them before it’s too late.

Along with check-ups, patients are reminded to brush and floss at least twice a day – preferably after a meal in order to prevent plaque buildup and tooth decay. It is best to use toothpaste with fluoride in it to help strengthen teeth. In addition, avoiding sugary foods and drinks can reduce your chances of cavities forming. If you do eat or drink things with sugar, try to rinse with water or mouthwash to remove leftover sugar on the teeth. By following healthy dental hygiene practices, you can help prevent the need for drastic dental treatments, such as dental implants, porcelain veneers, or dental bonding.

If you are in need of a dental check-up, please feel free contact my office near Los Angeles. We can discuss your options, including implant dentistry, during a consultation.
