How Teens Can Get a Smile like Their Favorite Celebrities

Teenagers today are highly influenced by their favorite celebrities – from their hairstyles and fashion to their body shape and teeth. Although some of these young Hollywood stars may have some cosmetic dentistry work done, the average teen can’t always get the same treatments. Those who visit my practice in Beverly Hills often ask how they can get a better-looking smile, just like their favorite star. The first step is to be sure and brush and floss at least twice a day, every day. In order to maintain a beautiful smile we have to start with having healthy teeth and gums. It is important that you visit a dental provider on a regular basis to ensure that your oral health is in top shape.

If you should learn that your teeth are misaligned, you can undergo orthodontic treatments to achieve a straighter smile. However, it is common for teen patients to want to bypass this important step in fear of being ridiculed for the metal braces they must wear. In these circumstances, Invisalign Teen may be an option. These are a series of clear, removable trays that used to gradually align the teeth. When worn, they are invisible to others and won’t be a cause for teasing. Also, teens who are beginning to notice stains and yellowing may want to cut down on the dark sodas and coffee drinks. Whitening toothpastes can also help remove some surface stains. If there is excessive staining present, be sure to consult with a trained and qualified cosmetic dentist in order to determine if a whitening treatment may be appropriate.

Those in the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles area interested in Invisalign treatments are encouraged to schedule an appointment at my practice. I can help you better understand your options and help you achieve a beautiful smile.

First Impressions, It's All in Your Smile

Whether you’re meeting someone for a job interview, first date, or auditioning for a role, your smile will make either a good or bad impression. If you have misaligned and/or stained teeth, you may shy away from smiling, laughing, or even speaking freely. As a Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist, I am well aware of the importance of having a dazzling smile. From Hollywood stars to business executives, cosmetic dentistry has greatly improved the smiles of many.

The most popular procedure to help improve the appearance of one’s smile is porcelain veneers. These are thin shells made of ceramic that cover the natural tooth after it has been filed and reshaped. Veneers look and act like a real teeth; they are made to help correct crooked, chipped, and/or stained teeth in order to provide you with a brighter smile. In just a couple of visits you can be ready for your next interview or role. Furthermore, achieving the smile of your dreams may increase your self esteem, which is often portrayed in the way you act and present yourself. When you feel confident in your smile and appearance, it is easy for those around you to perceive you as confident as well.

If you are ready to rejuvenate your smile and leave a positive first impression, feel free to visit my Beverly Hills office to learn more regarding porcelain veneers. I look forward to helping you regain a more beautiful smile.

Bringing Beverly Hills Smiles to Dubai

I was recently approached by the American British Surgical and Medical Centre (ABSAMC), in which I was asked to be a part of a team that travels to Dubai in order to provide patients with quality treatment in cosmetic dentistry, plastic surgery, and skin care. Along with Dr. Jason B. Diamond, Dr. Linda Li, and Dr. David Matlock, I’m bringing Beverly Hills to Dubai.

My first trip was in February of this year, during which I was able to check things out and set up the new office. It was my goal to make sure that everything was up to par in order to provide optimal care for my patients. Additionally, the team and I were featured in local magazines and television programs to get the buzz going for this new and exciting venture. The next trip will consist of consultations and treating patients, which is currently scheduled for early June. I plan on checking in every four to five weeks for a week at a time.

I look forward to being a part of this team and bringing my skills to the patients of Dubai. As I continue to make visits and meet with patients abroad, I’ll be sure to share my experience as it is likely to be a rewarding one. Practicing Good Dental Hygiene

Your smile is one of the most prominent features of the face and often the first thing that people notice upon meeting you. For this reason, patients who visit my Beverly Hills practice often inquire about good dental hygiene practices. Fortunately, visiting your dentist is one of the most important steps to maintaining a healthy smile. Doing so can help diagnose any dental problems present and treat them before it’s too late.

Along with check-ups, patients are reminded to brush and floss at least twice a day – preferably after a meal in order to prevent plaque buildup and tooth decay. It is best to use toothpaste with fluoride in it to help strengthen teeth. In addition, avoiding sugary foods and drinks can reduce your chances of cavities forming. If you do eat or drink things with sugar, try to rinse with water or mouthwash to remove leftover sugar on the teeth. By following healthy dental hygiene practices, you can help prevent the need for drastic dental treatments, such as dental implants, porcelain veneers, or dental bonding.

If you are in need of a dental check-up, please feel free contact my office near Los Angeles. We can discuss your options, including implant dentistry, during a consultation.

Stress Can Contribute to Poor Oral Health

There are a variety of stressors in everyday life. However, many individuals may not even know that stress is taking a toll on their oral health until they visit with a dentist. Those who come to my Beverly Hills practice are carefully and thoroughly examined in order to properly diagnose and treat their dental problems.

Some of the most common effects of stress are teeth grinding, cold sores, and lack of oral hygiene. Those who suffer from teeth grinding, technically known as “bruxism,” may not be aware that this is happening because it usually happens at night. The only symptom that may be evident of this is jaw pain in the morning. Once at my office, I can see that a patient’s teeth have been worn and inform him or her of certain options. In addition, stress lowers the immune system, which may lead to a frequent recurrence of cold sores. These can be painful and embarrassing for the patient, which could cause further stress and prolong the outbreak. Furthermore, patients who are undergoing stress may slack on their oral hygiene routine, which can lead to negative side effects.

If you are stressed and are noticing some dental/oral problems that may be linked to stress, please feel free to contact my practice. As a Los Angeles cosmetic dentist who is dedicated to patient safety, I look forward to helping you regain a healthy smile.
